YC 124, APR. 23RD - A NEW BUSINESS MODEL

Shifting Suns Industries has been running for over a year and a half now, supplying hundreds of fitted hulls to many pilots across the warzones. We strongly believe that our services have been enjoyed by many, however it is also time for us to move in a slightly different direction. With our order-based business, we have often had to face overwhelming workload and time pressure, neither of which are enjoyable in the long run. This is why we have made the decision to alter the way we work. We will still be supplying fully fitted hulls to the frontlines, but we would like to focus on making the ships and fittings we are most interested in, and without any sort of time constraint.

Thus, as of this week, we are no longer accepting all orders from individual pilots. We will still be taking custom orders, but more selectively and only for fully fitted ships, in bulk (at least 10 units) without any deadlines. Our main focus will now be to work with alliance leaders across both Gallente and Minmatar warzones to seed staging systems with fully fitted ships on public contract, with a heavy focus on T2 hulls, at a price below Jita. It is not yet defined what we’ll be producing and how we’ll be communicating it, but rest assured you will still be able to purchase SSND ships at a very good price, directly where they are needed!

In addition, we will still be running discount events every now and then, so stay tuned for pings about these! We are also continuing our excellent partnership with EVE PANDORA to provide fully fitted ships as campaign rewards. 

As always, feel free to reach out to us by mail or on Discord if you need to order ships, and we’ll discuss the feasibility of your project. Just keep in mind that we will now be quite selective on what we take in!

YC 123, OCT. 20TH - ONE-YEAR ANNIVERSARY CONTEST

On October 20th, YC 122, Shifting Suns Industries launched itself into a new venture – building fully fitted ships as a service. In one year, we have built and sold hundreds upon hundreds of spaceships, but most importantly, we have built a solid group of friends, a strong corp identity, and a lasting relationship of trust with our clients – you. To celebrate our one-year anniversary, we have decided to run a contest in which all of you are free to participate!

As some of you may already know, we not only build any ship you may need, but we also have a catalogue of pre-made fittings you can pick from, if you lack inspiration or experience to make your own. While this catalogue has a decent array of fittings, it’s far from complete… And this is where you come in! The goal of the contest is simple: submit to us a fitting that you believe will have its rightful place in our catalogue, and the best three entries will win a prize!

JUDGING CRITERIA
  • How well the fitting fulfills its intended role(s)
  • How well the fitting complements other fittings already present in the catalogue (we don’t need two similar fits from the same faction fulfilling the same role)
  • How well the fitting fits the main criteria for our catalogue:
    • We need fairly generic purpose fits susceptible to be of interest to many
    • We need a healthy mix of new pilot-friendly and veteran-oriented fittings
    • We focus on T1 and T2 hulls from the four Empires, and avoid overly expensive (pimped) fittings

 

PARTICIPATION RULES
  • Have a look at our catalogue (ingame channel SSND Ships on Demand)
  • Submit your entry (one per player) by eve-mail to Sasha Raine
    • Title of the e-mail “Contest Entry“
    • Link to one (and only one) fitting – no other format than the ingame fitting link will be accepted
    • A short description of the intended purpose of your fitting as well as extra stats if you feel they are worth mentioning
  • All entries must submitted between Oct. 20th 00:00 EVE Time and Nov. 3rd 00:00 EVE Time.
  • At the end of the contest, your fitting may end up being added to our catalogue (see below).
 
WINNING PRIZES
  • The three best entries will be added to our catalogue, and the capsuleers who submitted them will be rewarded with a free order of a T2 fitted ship of your choice:
    • 1st place: 1 fully fitted T2 Battlecruiser
    • 2nd place: 1 fully fitted T2 Cruiser
    • 3rd place: 1 fully fitted T2 Destroyer
  • In addition, if your entry didn’t win but was still considered a valuable addition to the catalogue, you will be rewarded with a 10% discount on your next order with us!
